Home sick today

Don't know what I have, but I feel like whining. Chills, swoons, upset stomach, headache and sniffles. Mild sore throat. Cough. Fatigue (I slept quite a bit over the weekend, too). Took some cold and sinus medicine since I often have hay fever this time of year, but it's doing nothing.

Nice not to have to teach this morning, but I'd planned to grade all afternoon. I worry now. Not sure I'll have the energy, and I really have to knock out ten papers before tomorrow.

Maybe I'll feel better later. Hope so. Just typing this entry makes me want to go back to bed, though.

I'm back in bed after having one of those gross symptoms that confirms - yup - flu. And yet I'll try to grade later. *shakes head* I've pushed back that deadline as far as possible. Must return papers tomorrow.

Oh hell. *g* Somehow I think you know exactly what I'm talking about with illness/fatigue v. deadline.

Get your doctor to prescribe some Tamiflu unless you've had this for more than two days. It should speed up your recovery, though it won't cure you. Try to forget about your obligations. You're really really sick and need to rest and not do anything.

Too late. It took every bit of five hours to accomplish, but I graded five essays. Took naps and watched soaps as breaks.

I think it's been three years since I saw a doctor, so I'm reluctant to call.. He'll want me to come in. HOWEVER, if I'm still sick in the morning I'll not only ask for the Tamiflu, but I'll ask to see him. I'd already planned to go in over Spring Break for my long overdue yearly.
