Eeeek!

The lovely, tactful, generous, and amazingly helpful [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn reminds me of the existence of the [livejournal.com profile] sv_roundrobin community. I'm so oblivious. *blush* And so, so sorry for stepping on toes. But she advises me of a way to set the "SV Community Fic Challenge" up like sv_roundrobin, and for that I am eternally grateful. Because I still want to do this. Will look into it tomorrow, but for now will leave the original post as is.

In the meantime, I just want to worship svmadelyn for awhile. Worship her with me?

*goes away worshipping*

;)
I just finished reading kieyra's "Negative Space" at SSA, and I want to rec it HARD. What I love is her (?) creation of a future we've not seen before. We're talking wonderful sci fi AU with a vocabulary that's just close enough to our own to feel familiar, and yet far enough away to convince.

Sometimes sci fi doesn't work because the futuristic lexicon is too contrived, too self-conscious, too heavy handed, but not here. I'm not distracted by it. No. I like it. I want to read more of this author's work, and I want to know if s/he has an LJ.

Wow.
I've now followed the suggestions of both [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn and [livejournal.com profile] happyminion, and given the SV CommunityFic Challenge its own community. You can find it at [livejournal.com profile] sv_communityfic. Wow. I'm a moderator. The community is up and running, and it's open to all.

I've reposted the original challenge to the new journal, but with edits.

I do hope you'll join, follow it, and rec it so word gets out. I'd dearly love to see this thing take off, and if the first fic works (and by "works" I think I mean sees any participation at all), I'll definitely keep the challenge going, with more fic opportunities as new SV eps air this spring.

Much love and Happy New Year to all of you.
