I just finished reading kieyra's "Negative Space" at SSA, and I want to rec it HARD. What I love is her (?) creation of a future we've not seen before. We're talking wonderful sci fi AU with a vocabulary that's just close enough to our own to feel familiar, and yet far enough away to convince.
Sometimes sci fi doesn't work because the futuristic lexicon is too contrived, too self-conscious, too heavy handed, but not here. I'm not distracted by it. No. I like it. I want to read more of this author's work, and I want to know if s/he has an LJ.
Wow.
