*pokes Dev* You doing okay? *g* Most of my buddies are posting addicts, so I get worried if I don't see movement for a few days. Lots of stuff going on in grad school land?
Yes and no. Thanks for asking. I'm self-conscious about talking about teaching the creative writing classes because it sounds so ridiculous in lj-land where everyone else is so much more prolific than I. But teaching the three workshops is gobbling up my life. So's writing the diss. And the dissertation tackles some tough baggage of mine. *sigh* Oh well.
Long week. Tired. I'll try to be more coherent tomorrow.
Creative writing classes are cool. I took a class myself last spring. Very helpful in structuring responses to other people's work (we had to do critiques of three other student's work every other week). I think it helped me know where my strengths and weaknesses are in writing as well. It's a lot of work reading and responding to three workshops worth of writing!
And the dissertation tackles some tough baggage of mine. *sigh* Oh well. I think we tend to write where our greatest passions lie, positive or negative. The best peices I think I got out of the class were things that came from strong emotion. One peice in particular about what makes a marriage right, which I've been thinking about a lot lately, with the gay weddings in San Francisco.
