A complaint first, and then praise for the politics of HGTV

Joe Rugiero on HGTV's "Homes Across America" makes me nuts. I'm fascinated by the often wild architecture in unexpected places, but I don't expect the host of this kind of show to have the voice and inflection of Howard Cossell. *smites him*

And btw, much as I've always enjoyed this network, lately my enjoyment finds itself morphing into pure love. Because many, if not most, of these programs offer wonderfully matter of fact views into gay life. "Partners Joe ____ and Todd ____ designed this room...." Same sex couples all over the place. I've gone to the HGTV website looking to compliment them on their progressiveness, but they don't accept email, and their bulletin board faq states they don't allow political discussion. It's just as well. If they don't accept criticism or praise, they don't have to change a thing. Go them. *loves on HGTV*

ETA: Grrrr. Fucking tornado sirens. I hate when they go off for no good reason. I mean, they're tested earlier in the month than this, and shit, the power winking out and back, like there's something actually happening, when there really, really isn't. Fuuuuuck. Makes me jumpy. No tornado watches or warnings in the area AT ALL. Fucking tornado sirens.
